Student/Alumni Panelists

Evelyn Tate

Evelyn Tate oversees recruiting and admissions for the Full-time MBA, Part-time MBA, specialized masters and graduate certificate programs. She joined the D'Amore-McKim School of Business in April 2005. She returned to Northeastern University after having served four years as Director of Graduate Admissions and Financial Aid at Boston University's School of Management and nearly four years as Assistant Director of Admissions for Northeastern University's School of Law. Ms. Tate earned her MBA from Bentley College and her Bachelor's degree in History and Sociology from Brandeis University.

Marian A. Nsia is a double husky (class of 2015 and 2019), Ujima Scholar,  and MLK Fellow. She graduated in 2019 with her Master of Science in Accounting and Master of Business Administration. Shortly after,  she joined BDO USA, LLP as an Audit Associate in October 2019. She was appointed BDO Boston's first Multicultural Alliance (MCA) Leader within her first year of service.

Denise Reid is an Afro-Caribbean woman born in Boston, Massachusetts, driven by her identities. Denise is passionate about finding upward mobility pathways within marginalized communities. Denise considers herself an unofficial Northeastern community leader, being involved as a student and staff member in multiple affinities and student groups such as Graduate Student of Color Collective and NUDREAM. As the co-chair for the CPS Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Initiatives Council, she advises the College's senior leadership on diversity and inclusion efforts. Denise holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication Degree with a minor in Sociology and Business, a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from D'Amore McKim School of Business. She is enrolled in the Part-time Masters in Business Administration at the D'Amore McKim School of Business.

Michel Ajjan is an aviation professional, with experience working in consulting, operations, and business development for airports and airlines. Michel's passion for aviation is rooted in serving people, where he strives to help make air travel more accessible and enjoyable for all. From the DC area, Michel's career has taken him across the country, where he has also lived in Cincinnati, New York, Phoenix, and Boston. In his free time Michel enjoys watching and playing basketball, exploring cities, and visiting art museums. Michel is a Posse Scholar, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from Bucknell University. He graduated from the Full-Time MBA program at the D'Amore McKim School of Business in 2018.

Igor Deyneko is a Russian-born man, who moved to Boston, and now lives in New York City.  Because of his background, Igor is determined to fight immigrant and LGBT stereotypes both professionally and personally, in addition to passionately trying to improve access to quality healthcare for marginalized communities.

After obtaining his MBA At D'Amore-McKim, Igor became an operations manager at one of NYC's leading hospital systems. This role provided an opportunity to streamline the process of delivering quality medical care resulting in improved patient outcomes. With his ten years of research experience, Igor relied on his scientific background to join the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York. There, he managed day-to-day mortuary operations until the pandemic. In response to COVID-19, Igor assumed a leadership position working with hospitals to set up mobile refrigeration units. In his spare time, Igor has been doing outreach work with the immigrant LGBT community in New York, focusing on the suicide prevention among homeless LGBT youth.

Nico Nava is a professional events and media producer, publicist, and photographer. In the past years, he has focused on large scale events, benefits, and branding projects. He has worked with different organizations including ABS-CBN International, CBS Studios, Miss Supranational USA, and many other non-profit organizations. He is based in Los Angeles, California, currently residing in Boston, Massachusetts. Nico holds a degree of BA in Communication, concentration in Public Relations and Organizational Communication from CalState LA, also a MS in Project Management from Northeastern University. He is now pursuing his MBA and MS in Finance at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern. Nico and his brother are the first in their family to earn advance degrees in their family, and proud to be first-generation immigrants. His goal is to manage projects internationally. 

D'Amore-McKim Admissions Team

Mary McNamara joined the D'Amore-McKim School of Business in July 2020 to lead the recruitment and admissions efforts for the Part-time MBA program after serving on the MBA admissions committee at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. She is a co-chair of the McCarthy(s) Venture Mentoring Network at Northeastern, a Professional Advisor at the MIT Trust Center for Entrepreneurship, and a Coach for Leadership and Teamwork at Babson.

An angel investor and portfolio manager for over two decades, Mary is Managing Director of Angel Healthcare Investors and was a founding member of the Angel Capital Association. Previously, she was COO of an early-stage digital health company and a marketing VP with Fidelity Investments. In her early career, Mary held marketing and technology roles in software development at John Hancock, NYNEX, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Bankers Trust Company.

Jelena Pejic

Jelena Pejic is an international higher education professional who is motivated to meaningfully influence students at a pivotal time in their lives. She has 10 years of experience recruiting and advising graduate applicants and students. Jelena currently manages the graduate certificate portfolio of programs at D'Amore-McKim School of Business. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University and is currently pursuing a graduate program in global studies at Northeastern University. She grew up in former Yugoslavia and relocated to the United States in 1997.
