{"id":947,"date":"2024-05-23T15:25:44","date_gmt":"2024-05-23T19:25:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/damore-mckim.northeastern.edu\/cem\/events\/sixth-global-strategy-and-emerging-markets-conference\/"},"modified":"2024-07-11T10:40:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T14:40:25","slug":"sixth-global-strategy-and-emerging-markets-conference","status":"publish","type":"dmsb_event","link":"https:\/\/damore-mckim.northeastern.edu\/cem\/events\/sixth-global-strategy-and-emerging-markets-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Sixth Global Strategy and Emerging Markets Conference: Geopolitics, Emerging Markets, and Global Strategies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Center for Emerging Markets co-organized the 6<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Global Strategy and Emerging Markets (GSEM) Conference&nbsp;with the&nbsp;Jack Austin Center for Asia-Pacific Business at Simon Fraser University (lead organizer); the Emerging Markets Institute at Cornell University; and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Center for Global Business at  University of Texas at Dallas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The theme of this year's GSEM conference was \u201cGeopolitics, Emerging Markets, and Global Strategies.\u201d The global world order \u2013 a system of rules, norms, and practices driving business activities \u2013 has been under pressure as exemplified by the growing rivalry between China and the United States, a rise in protectionism and investment restrictions, and the enhanced nationalistic sentiments triggered by COVID-19.
