Edmund DiSanto, Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor to the CEO of American Tower Corporation, shared his insights regarding the potential hurdles and issues at entry, as well as critical early investment and organizational considerations. The talk also included an overview of strategies that can help provide a solid basis for achieving long-term growth and sustainable returns while also touching on mitigating inherent emerging market risks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Edmund DiSanto<\/h2>\n\n\n

In April of 2007, Edmund DiSanto was appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of American Tower Corporation<\/strong> (\u201cATC\u201d) with primary responsibility for legal and regulatory affairs, human resources, corporate governance and international business development support.  ATC is an S&P 500 company with a market capitalization of US $107.7 billion. It is a leading wireless and broadcast communications infrastructure company that develops, owns, and operates communications sites, including wireless communications towers, broadcast communications towers and distributed antenna system networks. ATC's portfolio includes more than 223,000 communications sites, including more than 43,000 sites in the United States and Canada and over 180,000 towers internationally in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Germany, Ghana, India, Mexico, Peru, South Africa and Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to joining ATC, DiSanto was with Pratt & Whitney<\/strong>, a unit of United Technologies Corporation. DiSanto started with United Technologies in 1989, where he first served as Assistant General Counsel of its Carrier Corporation<\/strong> subsidiary, then as corporate Executive Assistant to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of United Technologies<\/strong>, and from 1997, he held various legal and business roles at its Pratt & Whitney unit, including Deputy General Counsel and most recently, Vice President, Global Service Partners, Business Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to joining United Technologies, DiSanto served in a number of legal and related positions at United Dominion Industries<\/strong> and New England Electric Systems<\/strong> (now National Grid).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DiSanto earned his J.D. degree from Boston College Law School in 1978 and a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University in 1975. He is a member of the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of New Hampshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
