The Center for Emerging Markets welcomed Suresh Muthuswami, Chairman of North America for Tata Consultancy Services, for a fireside chat to discuss the promise of AI and other enterprise technologies in today's business world, as a part of the Vivek and Vandana Sharma India Lecture Series.<\/p>\n\n\n

About Suresh Muthuswami<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As Chairman of North America for Tata Consultancy Services, Suresh Muthuswami oversees TCS' largest market in driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and helping clients in their digital transformation journeys. An advocate of STEM education, Suresh leads TCS' comprehensive efforts across North America to provide underserved communities and the next generation of talent with the foundational computer science skills for 21st century careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to becoming Chairman of North America, Suresh was president and global head of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance Platforms at TCS. In this role, he was responsible for creating a vision, driving digital and business strategy, overseeing business and digital transformation efforts for clients, and leading TCS global service delivery across financial services and insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suresh also previously served as the global insurance and healthcare leader for TCS. He worked extensively with C-Suite leaders at Global 1000 clients, helping design and oversee key transformation programs. During his tenure, he successfully steered these businesses and grew them manyfold \u2013 building agile units focused on innovation and meeting client needs by championing investments in initiatives and ideas to drive growth and differentiation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to joining TCS, Suresh led a technology group in India, ran the global program management for a large engagement in the U.K., and worked at a start-up consulting company, helping it grow revenues to more than $15 million in two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suresh is a member of the State of Connecticut Governor's Workforce Council, and serves on the Board of Directors of Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP) as well as the American Red Cross Greater New York Region. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in computer applications from PSG College of Technology in India and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
