The D'Amore-McKim School of Business has embarked on a new journey and is\u00a0embracing its mission<\/a>\u00a0to enable students to be responsible business leaders of the world capable of working, navigating, and creating in a digital environment. In a\u00a0series of signature events titled \u201cBeyond Boundaries,\u201d\u00a0we aim to address and celebrate the thematic pillars of this mission. The first event took place on June 14, 2024, and focused on\u00a0the role that leadership plays in the AI era<\/a>.\u00a0The second in the series, this event focused on how to conduct business globally in a rapidly changing world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploring the Future of Global Business<\/em>\u00a0featured a fireside chat between\u00a0Devika Bulchandani,\u00a0<\/strong>Global CEO of Ogilvy (a global advertising, PR, and consulting firm),\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0Ravi Ramamurti<\/a><\/strong>, University Distinguished Professor of International Business and Strategy and Director of D'Amore-McKim's Center for Emerging Markets. It was followed by a panel-style conversation between practitioners and D'Amore-McKim scholars who are global thought leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devika Bulchandani<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

The agency was acknowledged as one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, received the Global Agency of the Year title from Adweek and Campaign, and secured Network of the Year honors at prestigious events like Cannes, the Clios, One Show, and LIA\u2014often maintaining this recognition for multiple consecutive years.As a leader who believes in the power of creativity to make a positive impact on society, Dev's proudest achievements have occurred at the intersection of the social causes she champions and brand-building efforts on behalf of clients. From the iconic Fearless Girl campaign advocating for increased female representation on corporate boards to the transformative Morning After Island initiative, instrumental in overturning a 2009 Honduras decree banning emergency contraception, to the mobilizing WOMAN CORP, driving the Equal Rights Amendment in the U.S., to Ogilvy's ongoing collaboration with Dove to help end race-based hair discrimination through the passage of the CROWN Act\u2014Devika has been the driving force behind work that transforms culture and society. Born in India, she received her bachelor's degree in English and Psychology at St. Xavier's in Mumbai before receiving her master's in Communications at the University of Southern California. Ravi Ramamurti<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t
Ravi Ramamurti\u00a0does research and consulting on strategy and innovation in emerging economies. His earlier work also focused on business-government relations in emerging economies. He has published seminal articles and books on multinationals from emerging markets and on the topic of \u201creverse innovation.\u201d He teaches courses on the global business environment and global strategy, and electives on competing in emerging markets.A survey ranked\u00a0Ramamurti\u00a0among the top 1% of all scholars in his field. He is the author or editor of eight books, including three published by Cambridge University Press and one by HBR Press. His article on \u201cReverse innovation, emerging markets, and global strategy\u201d won awards for best article in innovation management and the best article published in Global Strategy Journal. He was elected in 2007 as Chair (president) of the Academy of Management's International Management Division. He is a six-time winner of the ADL Prize for Professor of the Year based on his teaching. In 2008,\u00a0Ramamurti\u00a0was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB). He is currently Deputy Dean of the AIB Fellows. He founded the Center for Emerging Markets (CEM) in 2007 and has headed it since then. Today, CEM is a leading center of its kind that supports faculty research, organizes international seminars and conferences, promotes student exposure to emerging markets, and organizes outreach events for practitioners. CEM also has several initiatives in India, supported by a generous gift from Vivek and Vandana Sharma, and a China Lecture and China Insight series. CEM is guided by a distinguished advisory board of CEOs and CXOs of multinational firms.<\/div>\n\t\t\n\n\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dave Vitti is the Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer of Global Procurement u0026amp; Manufacturing Operations for Bose Corporation.u003cbru003eu003cbru003eHis expertise includes Strategic Sourcing and Commodity Management, which involves developing commercial partnerships and establishing a competitive supply base that aims to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) along with minimal supply chain risk.\u00a0 Dave oversees offices in Framingham, MA as well as the Bose China Office in Shenzhen.u003cbru003eDave began his career with Bose in 2006 and has held several leadership roles within the Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain organization, including Director of Global Supply Management.
