The Center for Emerging Markets is proud to recognize three members of the class of 2026, Anjali Laddha, Brenda Belgamo, and Anh “Rachel” Le, as CEM Student Fellows, a distinction awarded to Student Associates who have made a lasting impact on the Center and the broader Northeastern community.
Anjali Laddha, DMSB '26, majored in Economics and International Business and had a minor in Emerging Markets. Growing up in Kolkata and studying across India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Laddha developed a firsthand understanding of the structural gaps shaping educational opportunity in emerging economies. That experience led her to found Degree2Destiny, an AI-driven career readiness platform built around communication, AI literacy, and professional networking. The platform has reached more than 4,100 students, faculty, and entrepreneurs across India and the United States. She received Northeastern's Women Who Empower Innovator Award for the venture and was recognized among the Top 150 globally in the AI by Her Global Impact Challenge at the AI Summit in India. Laddha will continue building Degree2Destiny full-time following graduation.
Brenda Belgamo, DMSB '26, majored in International Business with a concentration in Corporate Innovation and completed minors in Leadership and Human Capital and Emerging Markets. Growing up in São Paulo, she watched Brazil navigate the tension between rapid growth and deep inequality, an experience that drove her to pursue international business and, eventually, to CEM. As Director of the 2025 BRASA Summit Américas, she organized and hosted the largest conference of Brazilian students in North America at Northeastern, drawing more than 500 students from across the United States and Canada for two days of panels, workshops, and conversations with business leaders, policymakers, and researchers shaping Brazil's future. She also served as Marketing Chair of the Brazilian Student Association, contributed to CEM's inaugural Student Research Expo on Emerging Markets, and conducted research with CEM Faculty Fellow Alexandra Roth throughout her tenure as an Associate. After graduation, Belgamo will join Schneider Electric in a full-time role, focusing on AI in business in Latin America.
Anh “Rachel” Le, DMSB '26, majored in International Business with a concentration in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and minored in Economics and Sustainable Business Practices. Born and raised in Vietnam, Le came to Northeastern with a conviction that emerging markets deserved more than footnote treatment in business education. As a member of CEM's first Student Associate cohort, she was instrumental in organizing CEM's inaugural case competition in 2023, going classroom to classroom to recruit students who had never heard of CEM, and helped establish it as an annual event that grew to 90 students across 20 teams and six colleges by its second year. She also conducted research with Faculty Fellows Paula Caligiuri and Alexandra Roth, supporting the International Business Today podcast and gaining a grounded view of how companies navigate the institutional and political realities of operating across different markets. Le will pursue a Master of Finance at Boston University.
Belgamo, Laddha, and Le each immersed themselves in CEM during their Northeastern careers while contributing meaningfully to its growth as a student community. We're thankful for their dedication and look forward to following their work ahead.
