Paula Caligiuri, Distinguished Professor of International Business and Strategy at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University and CEM Faculty Fellow, has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the IM Division AmorePacific Outstanding Educator Award, presented by the International Management Division of the Academy of Management.
The award recognizes continuous excellence and innovation in teaching international management across all levels and in a global context. Caligiuri will receive the honor at the Academy of Management's annual conference this August.
The Academy of Management is the leading professional association for management and organization scholars, with more than 21,000 members across 120 countries. Its International Management Division brings together a global community of researchers and educators working on cross-border and cross-cultural themes, from multinational strategy and global leadership to the societal impact of international business. Award recipients are selected by the division's Professional Awards Committee, comprised of past division chairs and recent winners of the IM Division's Eminent Scholar Award.
Caligiuri's teaching at D'Amore-McKim spans global leadership, soft skills development, and cross-cultural effectiveness. She has been recognized as one of the most prolific authors in international business for her research on expatriate management, global leadership development, and cultural agility, and her work has appeared in top journals including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, and Journal of Applied Psychology. Her most recent book, Live for a Living (with Andy Palmer), offers a framework for professionals to take ownership of their career paths to align them with their personal brands.
At Northeastern, she is host of the International Business Today podcast, a podcast launched by the D'Amore-McKim School of Business' international business and strategy group examining contemporary business issues through a research lens. She also is president and co-founder of Skiilify, a public benefit company which provides a platform to help people build measurable soft skills for working across cultures. Caligiuri is a Fellow of both the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Academy of International Business.
