The Center for Emerging Markets is proud to be part of India's buzzing startup scene by supporting and strengthening SmartIDEAthon—which may well be one of India's biggest social innovation pitchfests. 

The launch of the Center for Emerging Markets Vivek and Vandana Sharma India Initiative will create a groundbreaking package of programs that will expand and deepen the school's engagement with economic and business issues in India.

In a university event co-hosted by D'Amore-McKim's Center for Emerging Markets and Women Who Empower, Northeastern President Joseph E. Aoun welcomed Indra Nooyi, member of Amazon's Board of Directors and former CEO of PepsiCo, for a conversation about her career, lifelong learning, and workplace diversity.

Ramachandra Guha, an award-winning biographer and historian, visited Northeastern University as part of the India Lecture Series hosted by the Center for Emerging Market. Guha gave two lectures, “Why Gandhi Matters” and “Five Fault Lines in Contemporary India.”

The Northeastern University Center for Emerging Markets recently held the second annual India Lecture Series: “The Outlook for the Indian Economy,” presented by Dr. Arvind Panagariya.
