If your academic work was completed outside the U.S., you'll submit your documents through Northeastern's Foreign Credential Evaluation (FCE) process. Simply upload your official transcripts and, if applicable, proof of degree conferral from every post‑secondary institution you attended. Our team will review them to determine U.S. equivalency.

Per the university policy, official test scores and transcripts should be submitted within 30 days of the start of the semester. Unsubmitted transcripts may result in a registration hold for the following term. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing after receipt.

If you are unsure about whether you already provided us with your final transcript, feel free to check the status on the application portal.

Northeastern is test-optional and does not require GMAT or GRE scores for admission. If you submit unofficial scores, they may be considered for admission and scholarships. If you submit unofficial scores, then official scores are required before enrollment.

Remember to “Claim Your Northeastern University Online Account”. You should have received an email with a personalized link and instructions. This establishes your Northeastern email and gives you access to essential university systems and resources.

All students registered for classes and/or on co-op (regardless of whether they are taking a course or not while on co-op) need to complete the “I Am Here” process online through the Student Hub. This includes new students, transfer students, exchange students, non-matriculated students, students taking online classes, and students studying abroad.

If you do not complete this process, you will be dropped from your courses. Students dropped from classes by reason of no response to “I Am Here” still can register for classes during the registration period. Please note: class availability is subject to change and a seat in the originally registered classes is not guaranteed.

Classes begin in early September, January, or May, depending on when you enroll. Visit the full university academic calendar for more information on the semester schedule. Fall registration for incoming students begins in May. Spring registration for incoming students begins in November. Your academic advisor will reach out to you regarding registration and other general information close to these timeframes.

Complete the University Documentation of Immunity

Health insurance requirement

Massachusetts law requires that every student enrolled in a campus-based program have qualifying health coverage. You'll automatically be enrolled in the Northeastern University Student Health Plan (NUSHP), which you can waive if you have comparable US-based coverage. Need help? Graduate students may waive NUSHP by showing proof of comparable coverage, per these guidelines. Students in Boston who waive coverage may submit a form and pay an annual fee to receive unlimited primary care at Northeastern's University Health and Counseling Center (UHCC).

If you are planning to waive NUSHP, please be aware that Gallagher Student Health will be reviewing each individual waiver to ensure that the health care plan submitted is fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act and Massachusetts state requirements. Short-term medical plans and travel insurance plans cannot be used to waive NUSHP.

If you're an international student pursuing an F-1 visa, you'll need an I-20 form to proceed with the visa process. To file your I-20, please visit your application portal for instructions. You can begin this process once you have claimed your Northeastern account.

Orientation will be held on-campus and details will be shared directly with you closer to your start date. Faculty and staff will be in attendance to help get all of your questions answered.

Bootcamps are only available for Full-Time MBA, Full-Time MS in Finance/MBA, and Full-Time MS in Quantitative Finance/MBA students.

Your academic advisor will inform you if your participation in pre-orientation accounting, statistics, math, and/or economics bootcamps is required or recommended. Northeastern's Bootcamp costs range from $0 to $200 per course and is not billed to your Northeastern's accounts as tuition; but rather you will pay for boot camps by credit card.

Determining where you will live is an important step in preparing to make Boston your home while you are a student. Most students live within a three-mile radius of the campus in the neighborhoods of Back Bay, Fenway, Mission Hill, and South End; however, some of our students choose to commute from other areas of Boston. If you are relocating to Boston or exploring new housing options, Northeastern offers resources to support you.

We know that many future students have questions about how best to finance their degree. We believe that financing your education doesn't need to be complicated and have collected the following resources to help you.

Northeastern University's Student Financial Services website is your best resource for the most current and comprehensive information to help prepare you financially.

Your financial aid advisor will work with you one-on-one to answer your questions, point you to resources and provide valuable insight as you navigate the financial commitments of your program. Your advisor will be your partner in understanding the forms, terminology, numbers, and deadlines. Together, you'll create a financial plan that makes sense for you and your family's unique financial circumstances.

You can set up an appointment through the Student Financial Services Inquiry Form, or if you have activated your Northeastern Account, you can book a virtual appointment via the student hub.

Northeastern University and the Dolce Center for the Advancement of Veterans and Servicemembers (CAVS) in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are honored to offer the Yellow Ribbon program.

Northeastern University's Graduate Learning Enrichment (GLE) program allows you to begin graduate-level introductory courses in popular fields before your program starts, at no cost and entirely online. These courses, which cover responsible AI, business, software engineering, and data management, are designed to be completed in 4-6 weeks.

Upon completion of a course, you will receive a 3% tuition scholarship and earn a GLE Badge credential to enhance your resumé before starting your graduate program. One scholarship per student will be awarded, regardless of the number of courses completed.
