Northeastern University offers an exciting Honors Program for exceptionally accomplished and motivated students. There are two parts to the program – a University-wide Freshman/Sophomore Honors Program and an upper level Honors Project.
University Honors Program
The University-wide Honors Program provides freshmen and sophomores the opportunity to take intellectually challenging honors courses, to participate in activities with other active thinkers, and to live in an Honors Program thematic community. Students in the Honors Program participate in one of several interdisciplinary thematic areas, exploring the theme through course work, embedded living and learning opportunities and through social, cultural and community activities.
School Honors Program
At the upper level, students have the option to participate in the School Honors Program by completing a Junior/Senior Honors Project. Students work individually with a faculty member in their discipline on a research project of the student’s choosing. The Junior/Senior Honors Project provides academically motivated students the opportunity to explore in greater depth an area of interest. Students interested in pursuing a Junior/Senior Honors Project should speak with their Academic Advisor.
