Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Garcia's research interests are in new product development, radical innovations, and complexity theory. Recent studies have investigated the diffusion of resistant innovations; in particular, screw caps on fine wines, alternative fuel vehicles and nanotechnologies.

Recipient of The David L. Wilemon Research Award for 2011.

Winner of 2011 Product Development & Management Association (PDMA) Research Competition.

Provost Minority Faculty Development Grant to study the diffusion of alternative fuel vehicles (July 1, 2007).

Industry and Academic Experience

Professor Garcia worked as a new product manager for several companies in the telecommunications industry before joining the College of Business Administration faculty in 2002.
