Hello Alumni and Friends,
With the fall semester rapidly ending, we wanted to update you on the latest news from the Accounting Group. The Fall semester has been a busy one. Student interest in accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels remains strong, and we continue to recruit new faculty to meet the growing demands for our classes. This fall we welcomed three new faculty members, Ronen Gal-Or from the University of Arizona, Colin Reid from the University of Tennessee, and Russ O’Haver from Ernst & Young. You can read more about our new faculty members in this issue of the Newsletter.
Our faculty members continue to publish in excellent journals and represent the university on the editorial boards of some of the leading academic journals in accounting. In this issue of the newsletter, we are also sharing some of the roles that our faculty members play with these journals.
Finally, as you know, Northeastern has long been known for its excellent co-op program. This year, Northeastern’s College of Business Administration was once again named the top school for co-op and internship experiences by Bloomberg BusinessWeek. In accounting, we are particularly grateful to Charlie Bognanni and Kathy Tanner, our co-op coordinators, who do a tremendous job ensuring that our undergraduate students have great co-op experiences. In this issue, we are highlighting several students who have had unique and interesting co-op experiences.
I hope that you enjoy this semester’s newsletter. On behalf of the faculty in the Accounting Group, I wish you all a great holiday season.
Go Huskies!
Tim Rupert, Accounting Group Coordinator
