Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Boyd teaches Organizational Behavior with a special focus on leadership. His research explores the hallmarks of effective leadership in a wide variety of organizational settings. A second research stream examines the effect of stewardship practices on corporate financial performance.

Industry and Academic Experience

A member of the College of Business Administration faculty since 1978, Professor Boyd served as coordinator of the Human Resources Group prior to his appointment as acting dean and then dean of the College from 1987-1994. He has extensive corporate experience and was co-owner of a manufacturing firm.

Professional Services

Professor Boyd sits on the boards of a number of corporate and charitable organizations and is a frequent speaker at business and educational forums. He also serves as a member of the editorial board for Cross Cultural Management. From 1997 to 2004, Professor Boyd was a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Value-Based Management.
