Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Reid’s research interests pertain to audit quality and audit fees as well as executive compensation, particularly various forms of post-employment compensation.

AAA/Deloitte/J. Michael Cook Doctoral Consortium Fellow, Lake Tahoe, CA (June 2010)

University of Tennessee College of Business Administration – ESPN Scholarship (Fall 2009 – May 2011)

TSCPA Accounting Excellence Award, Baylor University (May 2005)

Received the Best Paper Award for a New Faculty Member from the Northeast Region of the American Accounting Association for his paper “The Effects of Changes in the Issuing Office of an Audit Firm on Clients’ Audit Quality and Audit Fees.”

Selected Publications

Industry and Academic Experience

Professor Reid worked in the audit practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining the CBA faculty in September 2011, he taught at the University at Tennessee and served as a graduate research assistant.

Professional Services

Professor Reid is a member of the AICPA as well as the AAA. He has served as a reviewer and discussant for the Auditing Section Mid-Year Meeting as well as the AAA Annual Meeting.
